| | Model of the car: | Dodge Intrepid | | | General comments: | I would not recommend buying an Intrepid for a long-term ownership vehicle. They are very nice for short-term leases or rentals but for ownership...I will never have another one. The engine and its parts are of high quality but the drive train, steering linkage, and accessories are for the dogs. Spend your time on General Motors because Chrysler has certainly left a negative impression on me. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Transmission trouble, water pump replaced, check engine light comes on with no explanation from any repairman, continuous radiator leaks, getting ready to replace water pump for the second time as well as repair a radiator leak caused by the installation of the first pump. Power window motor needs to be replaced. Numerous steering linkage problems. Rotors have been replaced twice and have been shaved too many times to count. Tires for front-end are bought approximately every six months because the alignment is out and no one can fix it. | | | Previous car: | 1986 Chevrolet Celebrity - nothing compares to GM products1989 Dodge Dynasty - in the same boat as the Intrepid |
