| | Model of the car: | Dodge Intrepid | | | General comments: | I went car shopping and couldn't even find anything that was even near to what I wanted in a car until I found my intrepid. It was love at first sight! I am still to this day in love with my car so it is very hard to let it go. Nothing but problems with it from the start. Not even one month after I purchased it the check engine light was coming on all the time. The dealership told me to turn it off and restart it. I did so and the light wasn't on. They said it has a sensitive 02 sensor. It was sensitive alright,I had to replace it! A month and a half ago I had to stick $500 into the front end with new tie rods and ball joints. I don't even know what they are but they caused alot of problems. Tomorrow(believe it or not) I am dropping my car off at the garage because for some reason as I was driving it was like I put it in nutral as I was driving. I lost all power on a major high way. Judging by the reviews..transmission. I am a single mother trying to make it on my own. I can't afford this. My father wants me to fix it and keep it. believe it or not I wanted to look into getting a newer intrepid. I heard they have had problems but wasn't for sure so that's how I got here. I think I will get something else. Even if it is something small that is wrong with my car I will fix it and trade it in while I have the chance. My car has 140,000 miles on it and it has been good to me I have to say but I don't think these cars were made to last. If you are looking for a temperary vehicle then the intrepid is for you. I drove ALOT of miles with my car and I have to be honest..I'm not good with changing oil. I do have a problem with the weatherstripping in car though. It won't stay on. I really will miss my car alot but these cars are not reliable. Night time..single mother..3 year old in the car..stranded on the side of the road..Doesn't sound good to me! My car has ALWAYS started even with the wisconsin winters. That's a plus. As for giving my opinion to others who are looking into purchasing an Intrepid..Every car is different. Some are good..some are bad. I have mixed feelings about the Itrepid. If you purchase one..may you love your car as much as I do and it works better for you than mine has!!
