Dodge Intrepid
| | Model of the car: | Dodge Intrepid | | | General comments: | This car has been one of the most reliable and dependable cars that I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It's a little big for a single guy but I have grown attatched to it's large and luxurious size. The 3.5 V6 is one of the best engines that Dodge has put out in a long time and has never left me stranded in the 3 years that I have owned it. I had to park it when I went on deployment last year (Military), and it had to sit outside in the Pacific Northwest winter for 7 months. When I came back, it started right up with no problems. I have had one recall on this car with the fuel line, and Dodge was more than happy to fix it free of charge. I have heard horror stories about Intrepids, but if you look, hardly any of them have the 3.5 engine. I also own a Porsche and I admit the Dodge will sit sometimes (What would you rather drive on a daily basis?). But when I need it for driving to go snowboarding or a long trip, it have proven itself ten-fold as far as reliability and comfort. I believe that any family with children would do well to add this car to their garage, even if just a low-priced second vehicle. The maintenence cost are low, and the car does not require any major servicing. If you change the fluids, belts, plugs and whatnot on a regular basis, this car will provide years of driving enjoyment for monimal investment. All in all, the Intrepid is one of the best cars that Dodge has put on the market for the average consumer. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Lack of manual transmission. | | | Previous car: | 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix. |
