Dodge Intrepid ES
| | Model of the car: | Dodge Intrepid ES | | | General comments: | The NEWER MODEL Dodge Intrepids are Very Good Cars!.... But stay away from the Older Models. I currently have a 1999 Dodge Intrepid ES (Newer Style) fully loaded and previously owned a 1995 Dodge Intrepid ES (Older Style). I had many problems with the older style, including fuel rail needed replacement, AC problems galore, a relay problem that would cause the car to cut off in the middle of traffic and not start for 1-minute to 3-hours! and many other problems that I can't remember. In short, stay away from the Older Model Intrepids which I believe is anything from year 1997 and earlier. The Newer Models which I believe started in 1998 are considerably more reliable from my experience. The design is much more stylish then the older models, and the Auto-Stick feature which allows you to change from fully automatic to somewhat manual is very handy. I use the Auto-Stick feature every time I want to accelerate quickly due to the increased control. A standard automatic doesn't normally change gears at a very high RPM after it has been punched unless you let off the gas a little, but Auto-Stick mode allows you to control when the gear changes. To get the most value for the money, get the car fully loaded: leather seats, sun roof, fog lights, 16-inch wheels(GoodYear Eagle GA tires aren't very good though), electronic seats driver | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Not the most stylish front dash area where the radio and Air controls are. Blind spots in the rear and slightly in the front. | | | Previous car: | 1995 Dodge Intrepid... |
