| | Model of the car: | Dodge Intrepid | | | General comments: | Overall my wife and I were impressed with the styling and spacious design of our 99 Intrepid. We took it for a short spin around the neighborhood before deciding to purchase. We bought our car with the 2.7L V6 @ 65K, and since had it in for repairs about 5 times. First episode was for a faulty gas gauge. (went in 3 times for this) My last episode was the replacement of the short block. My car was dragged in to the dealership thanks to AAA on July 30th. I got it back on Friday Oct. 4. Seems It's been in the shop more than on the road. I wouldn't consider buying another one with the same engine. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | The 2.7L V6 is weak and unresponsive. The transmission shifts at high limits which increases heat and wear & tear.
Alternator is too small for this vehicle. Lights are constantly blinking with the balance of the engine. Front and rear windshields are way too big and the wipers can't keep up when it's downpouring. Expensive to repair with minor collision. | | | Previous car: | 1994 Hyundai Sonata
