Dodge Intrepid
| | Model of the car: | Dodge Intrepid | | | General comments: | This is a 1999 Dodge Intrepid with a 2.7 engine. Purchased new in
St. Louis. This was great handling car, but that where it stops. We
owned this car for 3 years with 89,000 miles on it when the engine blw
out going down the highway. We had the car towed to a local dealer.
The dealer told us that we need a new engine in the amount of $7000.
We asked why this engine was blown thier comment was we are not sure.
There wasn't any oil sludge the oil was clean, we changed the oil in this car
every 3000 miles. There was no sign of engine problems until the engine
just stopped going down the highway. I do not thank you pay $22,000 dollars
for a car to only get 89,000 miles. After many attempts to contact Dodge they told
us they would not help. I done some research and found there are alot 2.7 engines
with the same problem. I would not recommend buying this car to anyone.. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Engine had to be replaced at 89,000 miles.
And Dodge will not back this car at all.
After checking around for an after market
rebuilt engine we were told you could only
purchase this engine through Dodge Dealer.
Or you could try to find a used engine. | | | Previous car: | 1989 Chrysler Lebaron, 160,000 miles
no problem. |
