| | Model of the car: | Dodge Intrepid | | | General comments: | I know to stay away from 97 and earlier Intrepids, but this 99 model I bought used, has been a good car. It started life as a rental and I bought it at 21'000 miles...have 31,000 on it now. The car isn't perfect, but I don't expect it to be. It has the standard 2.7 v-6 which developes more power per cubic inch than anything in production right now....the engine is a work of art. I've read some reviews that mentioned that their intrepid is underpowered....either those people like to abuse automobiles, or my Intrepid has an unusually tight and stong engine, because mine can get completely silly if I really need to make it perform. I'm having trouble believing it's putting out only 200hp at the most, and I have not put the tachometer anywhere near the rpm needed to produce that much power. Anyway...It zips up to 50mph so quick I cannot say its underpowered...all in all, it's a good looking, fun car to drive, if you dont mind a little more road noise than you would expect from a large car. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | road & tire noise | | | Previous car: | For what I paid for it, it blows everything else in its class out of the water |
