| | Model of the car: | Intrepid | | | General comments: | I had a lot of problems with this car in the year and a half i have had it. Do not purchase the extended warranty unless you read the small print. They do not tell you that it only covers a few (maybe 4) electronic parts. The engine seized and I replaced 6-8 sensors in the first five months (costing a total of about $4000.00). When I called Dodge Daimler they told me that they would replace the engine if I had receipts from service stations, but since i had already put out $4000.00 in sensors, I had a mechanic friend do my oil changes for me (costing me less since the intrepid costs more to do oil changes on because of the engine block). Dodge said that having my mechanic friend do the oil changes does not count and they would not honor the replacement. So now, i am sitting with a 10,000.00 car in the service station who wants to charge me 7,000.00 for another engine. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Engine seems to die at or around 60-70,000 miles.
