Dodge Intrepid
| | Model of the car: | Dodge Intrepid | | | General comments: | We are the owner of a 2000 Dodge Intrepid with a 2.7 liter engine. We have changed the engine oil religiously, however were not organized enough to maintain each and every receipt. At just under 36,000 miles the engine oil light came on and we took it to the dealer for warranty work. They changed the cam sensor, and did an oil change and sent us on our way. A few months later the car began to skip. The mileage was just over 40,000 at that time. As it turns out the cam sensor was filled with sludge and went bad again. We changed the cam sensor and did an oil change, but the car developed a knock in the engine. We are now stuck with a $7,500 repair estimate and a car that has depreciated in value from a $23,000 original purchase price to $5,300 in 3 years, and that is only if we get the knock fixed. |
